Studies and dissertation
After studying process engineering and chemical plant construction at Graz University of Technology, I was awarded a research scholarship in 1994 to conduct research on the subject of “Transformation and Sustainability” (Sustainable Development) as part of my dissertation at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. My interest: How do people and organizations develop as complex systems? And when is this development successful and sustainable?

In order to bring my knowledge efficiently into the economy, I am qualified and trained as a management and organizational consultant. Today I am a certified management and organisation consultant and trainer, and since 2001 I have repeatedly been awarded the title of Certified Management Consultant (CMC).
Many in-depth training courses, for example as a systemic organizational consultant, systemic strategy consultant and many seminars on the topics of transformation, complexity and viable organization have constantly expanded my knowledge.
My work experience
In my more than 20 years as a consultant and trainer for executives, I have accompanied two consulting companies as partner and managing partner and gained a lot of experience (most recently: Wallner & Schauer GmbH). In the year 2015 I have additionally founded the publishing house Edition Summerhill e.U. Since 2017 I am working as a self-employed entrepreneur in consulting and training.
My current task
Today I see myself as a companion and inspirer for companies and many executives and managers who have to face complex change processes. I have been accompanying some of my clients for up to 20 years.
My teaching positions at university and technical colleges
With my four teaching assignments in master programs at UNI Graz, UniForLife, and at the FH Wien der WKW, I face up to the scientific dialogue and consistently deepen my wealth of knowledge. The topics of my lectures include: 1. corporate culture and values, 2. change management, 3. corporate strategy, 4. transformational leadership.
My research and development work
I have consistently processed my years of research and development work in seven non-fiction books and numerous publications. My learning and development model „train the eight“, which I have developed together with Univ.Prof. DI Kurt Völkl in ten years of joint work, has been used very successfully. It is an extremely helpful, agile model for leadership development, especially in self-leadership.
My clients include numerous well-known companies and organisations. Examples are the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism, the Tyrolean provincial government, industrial companies (e.g. Steinbacher Dämmstoffe GmbH, the legero united group), numerous SMEs, the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, WellCon GmbH, BVAEB, ÖGK, and many more.
My partnerships and networks
In management training I work intensively with the HERNSTEIN Institut for Management and Leadership, the Vienna Academy and the Federal Academy of Administration.
I offer my consulting and training services in German and English. My leadership seminars follow a modern blended-learning concept and are dedicated to the most current topics of executives at all levels.
My basic assumptions and attitudes
I believe in a good future for the economy and society. The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) play an important role for me. Holistic thinking, distinctive intuition and the will to work together empathically are the non-negotiable foundations of my work as a management trainer and organizational developer. I offer more than 20 years of experience as a consultant and trainer, holistic, strategic perspectives, diverse and first-class references, so far seven non-fiction books on development topics, my own concepts and models (“train the eight”), as well as competence as a lecturer in a Human Resource Master Courses. My entire mindset is focused on learning and development.
